Areas of Practice

  • The Firm has a high quality and well experienced trial team who practice in many areas of the law with a high degree of proficiency before state and federal courts. The trial attorneys handle disputes concerning contracts, shareholders' rights, the Uniform Commercial Code, business torts, insurance, insurance defense, claims of unfair competition, misuse of trade secrets, fraud, deceptive trade practices, construction disputes, real estate disputes, intentional interference with contractual or business relationships, breach of fiduciary duties, federal and state administrative litigation including employment claims, conflicts of interest, bad faith, self-insured products' liability, toxic torts, general negligence, and other professional malpractice.

    The trial lawyers are also experienced in pursuing and defending actions seeking equitable remedies, including temporary restraining orders, injunctions, orders appointing receivers, and writs of garnishment, attachment, and sequestration.

  • The corporate practice by the Firm includes corporate formation and counseling on asset protection. The corporate work includes preparing documentation and filing with the Secretary of State, mergers and tender offers; stock and asset purchases and sales; secured and unsecured credit facilities on behalf of both borrowers and lenders; corporate, partnership and joint venture organization, formation and reorganization; stock restricting and shareholder agreements; executive, managerial and other employment agreements, including covenants not to compete; franchising, distributorship and licensing agreements; and other transactions relating to general corporate and contract matters.

  • The Firm's practice in estate planning and probate involves the counseling of individuals on the management and conservation of assets, estate planning, probate, trust administration, and the representation of professionals in personal and business matters. The Firm’s attorneys counsel and work with clients to establish and meet their estate planning desires of estate tax minimization or wealth transfers through wills, entity creations, trusts, or gifts.  The estate planning concept includes a review of current agent appointments and directives and establishing legal protection for lifetime concerns. The Firm also handles probating of wills, or intestate succession proceedings, and administration of testamentary estates. 

  • The Firm’s real estate representation includes owners, tenants, purchasers, sellers and developers in all aspects of acquiring, selling, platting, permitting, zoning and subdividing unimproved, improved, income-producing, landlord-tenant, commercial, industrial, farm and ranch properties, including issues relating to the environment, title, trespass to try title, mineral estates, easements and rights-of-way, boundaries, land use, water rights and utilities. In addition, the Firm's attorneys have worked with and on behalf of banks and other lenders, borrowers, guarantors, property interest owners, trustees, contractors, subcontractors and project managers in various types of transactions, including acquisition, leasehold, improvement, equipment and fixture financing; construction lending; debt restructurings and workouts; collateralized securities offerings; and the entire foreclosure and eviction process. The Firm also represents landlords, tenants and management companies in negotiating, preparing, interpreting and resolving disputes relating to leases, listing agreements, and property service and tenant improvement contracts covering unimproved land, apartments, commercial office buildings, shopping centers, hotels and restaurants.

  • The Firm’s attorneys routinely handle hearings on behalf of their corporate clients before administrative agencies such as OSHA, Texas Work Force Commission, County Tax Assessor, and the EEOC and National Labor Relations Board.

  • The Firm and its Attorneys have prosecuted numerous appeals and mandamus actions in state and federal courts on a variety of issues including tax matters, commercial disputes and personal injury actions.
